NaNoWriMo

National Novel Writing Month, or better known as NaNoWriMo, is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel. Since then they have also added April and July.

I’ve been writing since 1996, been doing Nano since 2004 – if others celebrate Halloween, I am cracking my knuckles counting minutes. It’s something I can’t live without any more, a marker of a year.

2004 – Wolfcub – wasn’t finished, it later got divided in several stories. -Wolfcub, Family Letters and  The Rose Ring.

2005 – Vaalade tants– won 🙂.

2006 – didn’t win, didn’t have enough time to even start.

2007 – Llyr – won 🙂.

2008 – Var har ni rest or Neitsipärg / Maiden Wreath– won 🙂.

2009 – didn’t win. Was working on first draft of another story that demanded full attention.

2010 – Rebel year. The number of words got done, but the book itself – hardly. 🙂 I have posted some on the FictionPress page so to show my style.

2011 – Rebel year – won 🙂I’ve been writing 5 different stories, all with potential, but can’t seem to keep myself on only one project. Can’t stop coming up with ideas either. The wordcount is suitable, and I’m verifying it as I have sort of filled the goal, but I am not a winner.

2012 – Rustles – won 🙂.

2013 April Camp – Dead Child’s Portrait  – won 🙂. – a story I’ve been working for few years. Used Nano to add words in the first draft.

2013 July Camp – Huntsman’s Daughter – Dead Child’s Portrait version II – got more words, but in the end came short.

2013 – Huntsman’s Daughter – Dead Child’s Portrait version II – Timing was horrible and it didn’t get anywhere. Now available on the homepage as Third Law

2014 April Camp – Fish Skin – won 🙂.

2014 November – Strife of Stone or Gargoyle: Safehouse – won 🙂.– Ready for editing.

2015 April – Muted Singer – ran in mud with the story synopsis.

2015 July – Bar Fight – won 🙂. – Used the April idea and twisted it around. Few chapters short from editing.

2015 November – Hardened Boulder – won :).

2016 April – Guarding the Hell –  won :).

2016 July – Rare Pearl – daily work got too much.

2016 November – Gargoyle: Rare Pearl – won :).

2017 April – Demon Loaf
